Аннотация
Работа с картинкой «самой по себе» в рамках «сильной программы» (так ниже) визуального анализа представлена как одна из точек входа в исследовании визуального, наряду с другими возможными порталами — фигурой автора, историей создания и бытования объекта. Известная фотография Роберта Франка «Троллейбус. Новый Орлеан. 1955» была выбрана Еленой Мещеркиной (Рождественской) для открытия рубрики «Ви-зуальная социология» в первом номере журнала «ИНТЕР» в 2002 г. В настоящей статье на примере того же образа обсуждается специфика, условно, американского и российского взглядов, общим в них является внимание к сегрегации, различным — восприятие динамики и эмоционального ряда. Энергетику снимка и всей фотокниги «Американцы»,частью которой он является, по сей день питает напряжение понятного и непонятного, американского и неамериканского. Воплощенные фотографом темы отчуждения и хипстеризма получают сегодня новое звучание так же, как и практики художественного прочтения (Дж. Кук, Дж. Дей, М. Хеннер) такого «гиперканонизированного» текста, каким, по выражению У. Т. Митчелла, стало анализируемое произведение.
