Abstract
Empirical part of the research is based on 25 biographical interviews with 25 representatives of youth from Krasnodar Region rural areas. The article examines concept of «life success» from the perspectives of rural youth, highlights the main criteria and characteristics of success, and emphasizes the importance of these concepts for the analysis of social mobility processes. It is noted that for young villagers, distinguishing of the main ways to move in the hierarchy of social positions it is possible only in the situation when various aspirations of young people from villages, their facilities associated with the future are taken into consideration. The key criteria of success are also identifi ed in the research in order to emphasize their role in assessing the level of personal aspirations of the individual, as well as its potential for mobility. Certain types of rural youth have diff erent models of life success, according to which they select specifi c channels of social mobility and build life strategies.
