Abstract

The article turns to the daily practices of professionals in situation of 90-s and discusses it in the frame of retrospective analysis. The specifcs of the social contract between power and society of that time is understood in terms of the destruction of the previous model and the lack of new practical norms, as situation of uncertainty from point of view of people working in mass professions sectors (“time of troubles”). Social vacuum (or chaos) on the part of social regulation spontaneously (from below) led to the emergence of new patterns of social and labor behavior. These patterns could be considered as strategies constructed by people spontaneously in their daily practice in response to the situation of social uncertainty. Basing on a set of in-depth interview these strategies of young professionals are described here as typical strategies in terms of the using or not-using the sociohistorical situation of social vacuum. The typology consists of the “strategy of social chance”, “the strategy of immobility”, “conflict strategy” and the “strategy of informal rules”. Those strategies analyzed here as individual patterns led later to more mass forms and types of social and labor differentiation in the professional life of this country. The empirical basis for consideration ad analysis was taken from in-depth interviews conducted with young cohort in 1994–1996 as direct participants evidence as well as retrospective interviews about that time with representatives of the same cohort in 2017–2018
